The Ministry of Land Use and Housing through its new Principal Secretary, Mr. Joseph Francois, signed an agreement with Eden Island Development Company Seychelles Limited,represented by its Executive Chairman, Mr. Craig Heeger, to pave the way for the building of a new Fish market as well as other commercial projects under the name Eden View.
During the visit of the team from the Abu Dhabi Urban Development Council led by its project Director, Mr TheyabAl Nahyan, it was announced that a strategic urban development plan will be prepared to meet the demands of a growing population and the diversification of the economy.
Starting Friday 10th May 2013, public access to the reclaimed area at the Bel Ombre jetty is being limited. The public will not be allowed in the area from 10pm to 4am.
The decision from the Ministry of Land Use and Housing comes after it has monitored and assessed the situation for several months together with other agencies following the appeal and public education programme the ministry initiated late last year urging members of the public to properly use the area and reduce littering and disturbance.
Staff members of the Ministry of Land Use and Housing joined other Workers all over the country gathered for a day of fun and sports at the Freedom Square on Sunday 5th May 2013.
The aim of the activity was to promote the concept of sports and health at workplaces.
